les familles Mueller et Ethier

ont le regret d’annoncer le décès de

Sgt. Eric Mueller

de la Police Provinciale de l’Ontario

Survenu tragiquement dans l’exercice de ses fonctions, le jeudi 11 mai 2023 à l’âge de 42 ans. Il était l’époux bien-aimé de Marie-France Ethier, le fils de Ginette (née Beaudoin) Mueller et de feu Herbert Mueller. Fier père de ses deux enfants adorés, Jasmine et Hugo. Il laisse dans le deuil sa sœur, Kathy Mueller (Christopher Wood); son neveu, Henry Mueller Wood. Il laisse également ses beaux-parents, Diane (née Larocque) et Pierre Ethier; sa belle-sœur Nancy (François Lafleur), sa nièce, Léane Lafleur. Il sera regretté par plusieurs parents, ami(e)s, confrères, consœurs et membres de la communauté.

La cérémonie privée aura lieu pour la famille du Sergent Eric Mueller, leurs invités, des membres de la Police Provinciale de l’Ontario, des représentants d’autres services de police, des membres des Forces armées canadiennes, du personnel des services d’urgence au Centre Canadian Tire, à Ottawa, en Ontario, le jeudi mai 18, 2023.

La cérémonie funéraire n’est pas ouvert au public.

To Marie-France, Family Members & Friends, I am a retired member of the Canadian Forces. I understand what it means to bare arms, and to be prepared to defend our country and its citizens. As a member of the OPP, by acting to defend the citizens of Bourget who may have been in danger, Eric made the ultimate sacrifice. I am very sorry for your loss. When I watched the Funeral Service for Sergeant Mueller, I was reminded of my visits to Commonwealth War Graves where many headstones carry this Bible message taken from John 15-13. The headstones of young servicemen read: Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. Thank you Sergeant Eric Mueller for your twenty-one years of dedicated and loyal service. May you rest in peace. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

I had the honour of working with Eric when he was hired as an officer in 2006. I lost contact with Eric over the years but I will always remember his sincere excitement for his new career and commitment to his communities and coworkers that was evident each and every shift. He was a true gentleman to all around him and I am sure he has made a positive difference in many, many lives - both as an officer and as a tremendous person. As my wife and I stood in honor of Sergeant Muellers procession to Rockland, I can tell you that our eyes were not dry. Seeing such a heart breaking spectacle was emotional and impactful.
