Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Arthur Medicraft, formerly of Embrun, at Maxville Manor on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at the age of 80.  Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth (nee Houterman).  Dear son of the late Elvin Medicraft and the late Margaret Ramsey.  Dear father of the late Elvin (Cheryl), Bianca (Styles), John (Nancy), Rodney (Teresa), Brian (Josee).  Cherished grandfather of Amanda, Micheal, Kevin, Kyle, Jessica, Brandon, Ashley, Tyler, Jade and Sara and great grandfather of Katie, Karley, Scarlett, and Elijah.   He was survived by his brother Thomas (Brenda); sisters Joyce (late Gerald), Janet (Franklin) and Debbie (Brian).  Predeceased by his brothers Donald (Midge), David and his sisters Francis and Barbara.

Born in West Dalhousie, Nova Scotia Arthur who was fondly known to family and friends as ”Butch” joined the military at the age of 17, which eventually led him to Holland where he met and married the love of his life.  After leaving his military life in 1968, most of his career was with OC Transpo with over 25 yrs service as a bus driver with a perfect driving record.  Butch loved nothing more than listening to music, dancing, watching country and western classics or catching up with family and friends.  We will forever hold our special memories of Butch in our hearts, until we meet again.

Sincere thanks to the staff of the Maxville Manor for their kindhearted and compassionate care they provided to Butch over the years.
