Obituary

The Godin family regrets to inform you of the death of Mr. Ernest Léo Godin.

Originally of Saint-Pascal-Baylon, ON now of Gatineau, Québec, Mr. Ernest Léo Godin passed away surrounded by his family, on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at the age of 82. Beloved husband of Pauline Pagé-Godin, the son of the late Joseph Godin and the late Célina St-Denis, son-in-law of the late Jean Pagé and the late Gabrielle Dutrisac. Cherished father of Joanne, Roxanne (Vincent Cimon) and Jean-François; dear grandfather of Stéphanie, Lia and Annabelle and beloved great-grandfather of Justin and Adrien.  He also leaves his brothers and sisters: Gérard (Gilberte), Gilles (Gabrielle), Armande (late Giovanni Crupi), Rachelle (late Georges Potvin), Irène (late Ray Saunders), Denis (Radica), Robert (Lucille), Laurent, Huguette and Gertrude, as well as many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his brother Jean-Luc and his sister Marjolaine.

The family wishes to thank all the doctors at the Ottawa Hospital and the Gatineau Hospital who took such good care of Ernest’s health over the years, especially Dr. Nadine Gauthier, Dr. Shawn Aaron, Dr. Susan Humphrey- Murto, Dr. Alain-Philip Gendron, Dr. Marie-Eve Girard, Dr. Jean-Claude Boily, Dr. Marc Régimbal and all the staff at the CHSLD Vigi de l’Outaouais. Donations may be made to the Ottawa Hospital Foundation or the Fondation Santé Gatineau.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, July 26, 2024 in the funeral home chapel.
