Mr. Jacques ”Jake” Gascon

Obituary

Jacques “Jake” Jean Gascon was a caring partner, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He left this world peacefully on November 8^th, 2023, at the age of 62.

He was born to Fleur-Ange and Sylvio Gascon on November 24^th, 1960. Jake is survived by his partner Patricia Boileau and her son Josh, his two children Sebastien and Veronique (Mitchell Baeyens), and two grandsons Owen and Hugo. His cheerful attitude and bright smile will be missed by all his coworkers, family, and friends.  His battle with serious medical issues in recent months showed his courage in facing life’s challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, Jake came out a hero and stayed strong until the end.

Jake was a city of Ottawa worker for over 40 years, often “sneaking” his kids into the local arena to have a private family skate or to play hockey together. Over the years he enjoyed thrifting with Patty and listening to music while sipping a glass of wine. Jake also grew to admire and experience many concerts, and karaoke where he loved to show off his dance moves. Jake enjoyed camping and cottaging with family and friends, while never forgetting to wear his sandals with socks in the summer months. We all know Jake never hesitated and was always open to lend a helping hand when asked. He will be greatly missed by all.
