Lanthier, Jacques 

Of Rockland, Ontario, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at Montfort Hospital, on Wednesday, December 20th, 2023, at the age of 87.

Beloved husband of the late Renée (née Lafleur).  Dear son of the late Donat Lanthier and the late Marie-Anne Chartrand.

Loving father of Suzanne (Gordon Macaulay) and Richard (Sylvie Pelletier).

Cherished grandfather of Ashley (Tyler Decker), Andrew Dupuis, Eric (Chieh-Yun Chao) and Stéphane Lanthier.

Great grandfather of Sawyer Decker. Dear brother of the late Michelle (Beverly Mann), the late Rejean (Jacky Kennedy), the late Liette (late Jean-Pierre Millette),

Ginette (Pierre Lépine), Jeannine (late Samuel Roy) and brother-in law of the late Roland (Denise Hamel), the late Yvan (the late Claire Chabot), the late Denis,

the late Claude (Lorraine Alemany), Michel (the late Dale Bailey, Mariette Tessier), Lorraine (Bill Quesnel), and Juliette (the late Joey Bergeret, the late Art Rosnau).

He will also be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

As we bid farewell to Jacques, we celebrate a life filled with love, and the joy of friendships forged along the way.

His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

He will be remembered as a true gentleman, humble and kind, friendly, hardworking, fair, respectful and a generous man who imparted many of these qualities in his children.

His legacy of compassion, wit, humor, and integrity will carry on in his many family members and friends.

He was one of those you instinctively trusted within a few minutes of meeting him.

He was never shy to roll up his sleeves and pitch in to help regardless of the task.

He knew the meaning of building mutual respect and lived it and was highly respected by everyone he ever worked with at Boart Longyear as Contract Superintendent.

Jacques was an exceptional man. He knew his work, quietly and systematically organizing each contract to allow drillers to exceed the expectations of his company Boart Drilling, the customers, mine managers and engineers! He focused on improving working conditions for his men with safely above everything! Boart Drilling Division was successful due to the efforts of this man!
