Raymond Cyr

Raymond Cyr was the son of the late Polydor Cyr and the Marguerite (nee Renaud).  Born in Eastview/Vanier/Ottawa, he had 10 brothers and sisters.  He lived a happy family life with his beloved wife, the late Madeleine (nee Richer) and their five children: Michel (Donna); Lyse (Raymond Robert); Francine Charlebois; Claude (Cathy); MaryAnn (Ralph Mojsiuk)   Raymond was also very proud of his 11 grand-children: Amy Johnston, Daniel Cyr and the late Joël Cyr; Tammy-Lynn Robert, Richard Robert; Roxanne Charlebois, Josée Cyr-Charlebois; Mélanie Cyr, Patrick Cyr; Nicole Mojsiuk and Rachel Mojsiuk as well as his 10 great-grand-children: Allyson Johnston, Noah Cyr, Aidan Cyr, Avery Cyr, Justin Robert, Adrien Robert, Felix Cyr-Slomp, Shon Cyr-Slomp, Astrid Cyr-Slomp; and Lydia Shank.  Christmas was a huge gathering of all their family as well as members of Raymond and Madeleine’s extended family, to say nothing of friends and neighbours.

 

Raymond Cyr’s passion was his work and it occupied him from 16 years old to 92 years old, retiring only because of the pandemic.  From Capital Carbon, Allied Paper Products (Eastview and Hull), Atlantic Packaging (Toronto) and finally with ExpoGraphiq (Gatineau), he appreciated his many colleagues, employees, and friends.  Raymond spent his last years in his home in Rockland surrounded by Claude, Cathy, and Francine as well as many helping persons.  The family wishes to thank Josée Ménard; Manon et Laurie (P-R Community Services); Lyse Duquette, Gabrielle Lapensée, Rachel McDowall and Diane Malette.

In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation directly to a charity of your choice in honour of Raymond Cyr.

The funeral will be celebrated on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at 11 a.m., at Très-Sainte-Trinité Church, 2178 Laurier St. Rockland Ont.

The family will welcome you at the funeral home on Thursday morning before the ceremony from 9 a.m. to 10:40 a.m.

Je viens d'apprendre le décès de Raymond avec qui j'ai eu le plaisir de travailler chez Expographiq. C'était un homme généreux et serviable que je n'ai jamais oublié. J'offre mes plus sincères condoléances à sa famille qu'il aimait tant et dont il parlait souvent.

Je viens d'apprendre le décès de Raymond. Il était pour moi un monument. J'ai eu le plaisir de travailler avec lui chez Expographiq pendant plusieurs années. Même après mon départ, nous avons gardé contact. Je suis triste de son départ. J'offre mes plus sincères condoléances à sa famille qu'il aimait tant. Il était très fier de raconter ses fêtes de Noel chez lui. Il nous manquera.

Raymond was like a friend to me . I will miss him and the fact that I live next door I was able to keep an eye on him when he was coming out of the house and I would wave to let him know that I was close at all time and he would wave back making silly and funny signs. Raymond gave his life to the Lord and in doing so he is presently with Him and Madeleine his beloved wife. After so many years I will miss him but knowing where he is it’s a consolation and that is to be in the presence of God Almighty.
