Deepest condolences on the passing of Ethel. Far before I was born, Alan and Ethel took my father in as a border when he first immigrated from Germany in the 1950's. They soon became good friends. It just so happened that my mum also knew Alan and Ethel and to make a long story my mum, Gladys, married my dad, Werner, and we all lived down the road from Alan and Ethel. I will always remember Ethel fondly (the Eggerts) as kids, my sister, brother and I would roam the fields and knew there was a safe place to stop at Alan and Ethel's home, be it for water or shelter from the weather. As kids, we thought Ethel was this super classy lady, managing a bank! and all the great clothes she had. Quite often she would drive my sister, brother and I to Sunday school. I will forever remember her leather gloves and those drives to Cumberland United. Ethel had a great a life and am sure she is happy to finally be with Alan once again.

Ethel and I were the same age almost to the minute. We were born on the same day, same year and same time of day in the morning. We lived as neighbours and knew each other our entire life. I will forever hold our friendship in my memories.

Our sincerest condolences on your loss. Despite living in Vancouver, it was always a pleasure to stop by and have a brief chat with Allan and Ethel whenever visiting my parents (Werner and Gladys Eggert). We always shared a few laughs and Ethel’s energy and spirit will be greatly missed.

I am so sad to hear of Mrs. Findlay's passing. She was my favourite Sunday School teacher and a pillar of St. Andrew's United Church. Her contributions and commitment to the church and her community spanned a lifetime of devoted service. My condolences to her family. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
