Obituary

Of Rockland, Ontario, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 12, 2024, at the age of 58. Beloved wife of Denis Porteous. Dear daughter of the late Jacques Rochon and the late Rita Lalonde. Loving mother of Kayla (Tristan), Cory (Brook), Ryan and Tanya. Cherished grandmother of Hailey, Kate-Lynn, Jorden, Jessie, Alexander, Emily, Elizabeth, Payton and Oaklynn and great grandmother of Layla. Dear sister of Gilles (Sandra). She will be fondly remembered by many in-laws, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She will be greatly missed by the community for her volunteer work and from the staff and students at the St. Patrick Catholic School. Sincere thanks to the Ottawa Hospital General Campus team for their great care and compassion. Mrs. Porteous was one of the most supportive parents I have had in my career as a teacher. She volunteered endlessly at St Patrick and was there to nurture her own children's and other children's education. I could always count on her for a laugh and a great chat. Parent-teacher interviews were a real hoot as she made things easier for me as a teacher. I missed her very much when she left our school as her children moved up in grades. Now the world will miss her dearly as she approaches the gates of heaven. Gone but never forgotten. Sending love and prayers for Cory, Kayla and family. xx
