Of Rockland, Ontario, passed away on Friday December 16th, 2022, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 49. Beloved wife and Soulmate of Kevin Mullen. Dear daughter of the late Peter Mous and the late Carmen Patry. Loving mother of Madeleine, Jonathan and Geneviève.  Dear sister of: Vincent (Makiko).  Will be fondly remembered by her mother-in-law Mariette (the late Robert), her brother-in-law Joey (Julie), nieces, nephew, family, and friends.

Sincere thanks to the amazing and caring staff of the University of Ottawa Heart Institute at the Ottawa Civic Hospital.

Funeral service will be held at Très-Sainte-Trinité Church, 2178 Laurier St. Rockland Ont., on Thursday December 22nd, 2022, at 1 pm.

I was so heartbroken to hear of Valerie's passing. She will be greatly missed at CHEO and Staff Forum. She was such a kind and gentle soul. Heaven has taken one of our "earth angels". My sincerest condolences to her family.

On behalf of everyone at CHEO, I express the sadness so many are feeling over the loss of our dear colleague Valerie. In her role in the Finance Department, she was one of the key behind-the-scenes players who help make sure everything can happen so kids get the clinical care they need. As a kind, caring colleague and a devoted organizer on our staff association, she earned the loyalty and affection of so many of us at CHEO. Always there for the team, pitching in, organizing events, helping others. She is the kind of person that gives CHEO its own sense of community. There is enormous sadness here at CHEO - we will miss you very much Valerie. To her family, loved ones and friends, we extend our sincere condolences.

Dear Kevin and family, I am so sorry for your loss and so heartbroken. Valerie was such a kind, sweet and thoughtful person. She always had a smile on her lovely face. She always made time to help anyone on the CHEO team, both for us in Finance and any other employees who needed her help. I will miss her so much. She not only was there to help with work, but added fun to all our Finance events she always helped with Halloween, potlucks, wedding, birthdays, showers and so many other events for her collegues. Not to mention the many amazing events she arranged for all employees at CHEO for Staff Forum. We have lost a true angel who gave so much joy. I am truly blessed to have known Valerie, I will miss you. Much love and hugs to you all.
