Mr. Daniel Gore

Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Daniel René Gore on Wednesday, May 13th, 2026, at the age of 66.
While on vacation in Florence, with the Italian Mosaic Globus Tour, he suffered a massive heart attack.

Daniel was a wonderful person, loving and genuinely kind to everyone whose life he touched. Born November 7, 1959, in Ottawa to Ernest D. Gore and Aline C. Guttadauria (deceased 1982-1984). He was an only child and was dearly loved.
He leaves the love of his life, Louise Arcand Gore, whom he met while attending Algonquin College in 1979 and married in 1984. Beloved father to his pride and joy, his son Tyson Ted Gore (Daria Tomkykh). Survived by his Godfather René Dagenais, and many cousins in the Guttadauria, Daviau, St-Georges and Gore family.
He will be lovingly remembered by his Arcand family, his mother-in-law Léa (late Ted Arcand), his in laws: Sylvie (Robert Duplantie), the late René, Étienne, Diane (Ron Pilon), his nieces and nephews: Véronique (George), Sidney (Meagan), Guillaume, Aglaë, and Raphaëlle and their three great-nieces, their princesses. His BFFs – Bertha Doucet, Gary Martell, Trevor (Noémie) Loucas, and Michelle (Courtney) will also greatly miss him. Dan attended Belcourt High and remained very close friends to many: MD.JMJ-PV-PT-PW-AC-LB, their spouses and all his other friends.

After completion of the “Loi et Sécurité” program at Algonquin in 1980, he joined the Vanier Police force, later the Ottawa Police Service. His career serving and protecting developed rapidly. His brotherhood was established step by step, by assignments, challenges, shifts, platoons, projects, and on and on…. He worked as a constable on patrol from the time he joined until 1992, when he then moved to the Narcotics Unit. In August 1997, he joined the auto theft unit and moved on to Central Surveillance in October 1997. From 2002 to 2008, he worked in Criminal Intelligence, but he was also seconded to the OPP Biker Enforcement Unit during that time, from 2002 to 2006. In 2008, he joined the Intelligence Investigation Unit and remained there until his retirement on January 31, 2013. He had been retired for 13 years after 33 years of service, was well respected and had his name quoted in some books. What a guy!

He was a unique, special, brave man who fought hard battles fiercely while keeping a positive attitude. His tenacious character allowed him to defy all medical odds. His thirst for life and his will to always do more was his drive and motto. His focus and strength allowed him to achieve his main goals: an early retirement at 53 years old, a condo on a golf course, and a condo on a ski hill.

He leaves a foursome he enjoyed playing golf with and others that sure have good stories to tell. He had a sense of humour that most won’t forget. His love of sports cars, good food, beer, wine, chocolate, birds, sports, the Ottawa Senators, the Atlético Ottawa, football, IndyCar racing, puzzles, and traveling were just a few of his interests that kept him active.

He will be forever loved, deeply missed and always held in our thoughts, prayers and in our hearts.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 15, at 11:00 a.m., at the Holy Trinity Church, 2178 Laurier, Rockland, ON.
The family will receive condolences on Sunday, June 14, from 6:00 to 8:00p.m. at the funeral home and on Monday June 15 starting at 10:15 a.m. at the church.

Dan the man. Back to the Vanier days, a few rookies walking the beat. The years go by and his career progresses. He gained the respect of many through his conscientious work ethic.
