Of Rockland, originally from Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday August 23, 2022 at the age of 66. He was the son of the late Simon Gelinas and the late Theresa Pothier. Survived by his 2 sons, Philip (Jade Filion) and Patrick (Josée Lapalme); his 2 granddaughters, Brielle and Zoé and a 3rd grandchild to come. He also leaves his brother, Paul (Rita) and his sister, Carmen (Ron Ineson), as well his nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by three brothers: Roger (Penny), Donald and Albert (the late Susan). The family would like to thank the team of the Thoracic Surgery and Care – Ops Unit 6 of the Ottawa Hospital General Campus for their great care and compassion. Donations to the Ottawa Hospital Cancer Center can be made if desired.

Marcel always had a giant smile regardless of calling himself a “grumpy old man” I am glad I was able to work with him closely on projects. He is truly missed. Condolences
